PartyCasino Wins Media Man Online Casino Award, by Greg Tingle - January 2010
PartyCasino.com Wins Media Man Online Casino Award
PartyCasino.com has been awarded the Media Man and Casino News Media "Online Casino Of The Month".
PartyGaming's igaming suite has grown a custom to winning awards since they first opened for business in 1997.
The competition for the coveted award was intense again this month with massive bids from both Captain Cooks Casino, Virgin Casino, Roxy Palace, Betfair, PKR and Noble Casino, however there can only be one winner... ladies and gentlemen, that's PartyCasino.com
The award follows PartyPoker's EGR Poker Operator Of The Year and PartyGaming also made the shortlist for EGR Operator Of The Year. Last month PartyGaming's PartyPoker.com also won the Casino News Media "Online Poker Website Of The Month".
The Media Man - Casino News Media accolade is based on a combination of elements including user experience, innovation, trustworthiness, customer service, gameplay, affiliate program offerings, newsworthiness and company values.
PartyCasino.com is one of a number of PartyGaming brands.
The most popular PartyCasino.com games of late include Rambo, The Godfather, Sinatra, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Mission: Impossible, The Terminator, Cleopatra, Sinatra, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, The Amazing Spider-Man, Monopoly, Resident Evil, Melon Madness, Wheel Of Fortune and Mega Fortune Wheel.
The PartyCasino.com jackpot is currently approaching the $1 million mark. Players can also compete for The Big One and Marvel Hero Jackpot, playing the Marvel super hero themed online slot games.
PartyCasino's most recent game releases include Melon Madness, Tarzan, High Noon and Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
PartyGaming CEO Jim Ryan has gone on record advising PartyCasino will soon feature more Hollywood blockbuster themed slots. A few in the know journalists and media agents have been recently tipped off that pro wrestling themed online slot games are in the works and that an all time classic movie adaption will be showcased in the PartyCasino portfolio within 3 months. Names been thrown around include Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, but those names are only rumors, however a print feature did showcase Andre earlier in the year, indicating that there is substance to the rumor mill. In any event, PartyCasino already has the world's most impressive line up of Hollywood themed games, and more are just around the corner.
In other exciting PartyGaming news, PartyPoker.com is currently running qualifiers to the L.A Poker Classic in the United States. PartyGaming's recent purchase of the World Poker Tour company and assets enables PartyGaming to once again accept American based poker players, and they are hopefully of soon accepting American casino players also. Both websites accept most European, South American and Australian players.
PartyCasino.com and PartyPoker.com customers can also benefit from rewards and bonuses via PartyPoints and the Palladium Lounge. Be certain to check out the PartyCasino exclusive "Cash Machine" that is being championed as one of the greatest online casino promos ever.
Media Man, Casino News Media and Global Gaming Directory do have a b2b relationship with PartyGaming, as they do with dozens of other companies in the gaming, igaming, media and entertainment industry.

Australian Media Man Backs Up Gambling Lists For Sale Story, by Greg Tingle - 25th January 2010
As reported by Gambling911 last October, gamblers details continue to be for sale to the higher bidder.
In the latest high profile development Britain's newspaper The Mail On Sunday has been offered a comprehensive list of 10,000 customer details from top gambling brand Ladbrokes, in addition to database access details of 4.5 million people.
Yesterday The Mail advised Ladbrokes of the approach and gave the customer files to the Information Commissioner's Office.
The police have been called and Ladbrokes has began contacting customers to let them know that their personal and financial details are safe, which has a touch of irony to it, given the nature of the attempted crime.
The person attempting to sell the list gave his name as "Daniel" from DSS Enterprises, in Melbourne, Australia, and claimed to have once worked for Ladbrokes.
The gambling records provided such information as Home Addresses, Gambling History, Customer Account Numbers, Date Of Birth, Phone Numbers and e-Mail Addresses!
Media Man can also confirm that we have received some sample lists of player details over the years, however we never buys lists and do everything buy the book. When lists come through we either delete them or pass details onto the Australian Federal Police (Australian High Tech Crime Centre) depending upon the amount of information contained in the lists.
Further Developments:
Yesterday Daniel advised "I have no access to any Ladbrokes database or any other information. I provided analytical services to them for 18 months during 2007 and 2008. Unless y name, my signature, my fingerprint is one anything, it has nothing to do with me. I had a call from a senior person at Ladbrokes this morning. I did not take the call. I don't know what they are ringing me about".
The Mail on Sunday received an email from Daniel yesterday advising that he was terminating the negotiations and warning against passing his details onto authorities.
Australia's Media Man will be further examining lists they have been offered for sale and will be sending more details to the Australian Federal Police and Gambling911 as the international scope of these e-crimes continues to be uncovered.
When I worked for PSINet Australia circa 2001 we were offered lists for sale from time to time but nothing containing the personal and sensitive details that have come to light in the Ladbrokes case. Media Man staff and management have never and will never buy lists from anyone. We are delighted to be able to do our bit in curbing the alarming trend of gambling lists for sale. We know that some readers and authorities may have been skeptical of previous Gambling Lists For Sale news stories but we can confirm these sort of e-crimes are happening.
Media Man's most trusted gaming and igaming brands: PartyGaming, PartyCasino, PartyPoker, Virgin Games, Betfair, BetUS and Microgaming.

Virgin Casino Launches More GTECH G2 Side Games Including Web Version of Land-based Casino Favourite, Bar X Magic 7
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, 18th January 2010 - Virgin Casino has added four more games from the GTECH G2 side games portfolio. The Electrocoin Bar X Magic launched at the popular UK casino several weeks ago and now four more proven popular games have been added: Triple Chance Hi Lo, Casino Dice, Spin Win, Aces High, Bingo Keno Extreme.
"We've found that our players like the instant gratification of GTECH G2 side games. They're quick and easy to play and they integrate well with our back end systems," said Simon Burridge of Virgin Games.
"I'm delighted that we're widening our relationship with Virgin to include the supply of games as well as poker," said Leigh Nissim, Commercial Director, GTECH G2. "This new aspect of our relationship demonstrates a key strength of GTECH G2 - namely that we can provide our customers with a full suite of products across online gaming verticals."
Bar X Magic 7 is a three reel, single line fruit machine with three jackpots. It's an online version of the Bar X game that has been around for thirty years and is well established with over 55,000 machines in bingo halls and gaming arcades throughout the UK and Ireland.
The unique games being added at Virgin Casino were developed by the games designers at Dynamite Idea, one of four leading igaming companies acquired by lottery industry giant GTECH to form their new igaming division GTECH G2. The Dynamite Idea team specializes in developing innovative online interactive betting games including several unique hi lo, dice and number games.
GTECH G2 combines the software development and customer management expertise of Boss Media, Finsoft, Dynamite Idea and St Minver and operates the International Poker Network and International Bingo Network.

Virgin Games, a leading online gaming company, has teamed up with the Virgin group for its ‘New Year’s Resolution’ campaign. The campaign has different categories of typical resolutions, such as getting fit, and offers hints and tips to help people stick to it. Participants will also get the chance to take part in a range of Virgin promotions where they can win prizes from across the Virgin group.
There are seven categories to choose from to make a New Year’s resolution, all of which offer exclusive Virgin prizes:
Make more of my time
Be more entrepreneurial
Manage my money
Get fitter
See more of the world
Have more fun
Do more for charity
Virgin Games is sponsoring the ‘Have more fun’ category and as part of the New Year’s Resolution promotion will give away 500 V*Points to the first 200 people who register at Virgin Games. V*Points is Virgin Games’ unrivalled loyalty scheme - unlike many other online gaming loyalty schemes it is transparent and easy to calculate; each V*Point has a cash value of 1p or one Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Mile and can be redeemed for cash, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles or Virgin experiences such as F1 racing days.
Simon Burridge, CEO of Virgin Games, commented:

With its hints and tips, as well as promotions and great prizes, this campaign gives people that extra boost and incentive that is often needed. Our customers will see that being virtuous and having fun doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive!”
Those who register will automatically be entered into a prize draw where top prizes include a day behind the scenes at Virgin Racing and an exclusive holiday for four to Richard Branson’s Ulusaba Game Reserve.
For further information got to: www.virgingames.com

PartyGaming joins spread betting party, by Greg Tingle - 15th January 2010
London Capital Group and PartyGaming ink deal. A new player in an ultra competitive sector.
The spread betting market in the UK sector is one of the most competitive in the world, mind you, so is the igaming sector, so one shouldn't be surprised that PartyGaming is ramping up, as its been doing with its casino, poker, bingo and media related sectors of the company.
News today is that PartyGaming has inked a three-year deal with London Capital Group to soon offer a financial spread betting platform. PartyGaming also has brand names PartyBets.com and PartyMarkets, so its probable that the deal with go into one of those brand names.
Industry analysts will of course question if London Capital Group assisting another white label partner into the UK market is a good or bad move. That's something only time will tell. PartyGaming is a large and established player thus can help to offset any costs and reduce majors risks in prime spread betting.
PartyGaming Plc is reportedly the world’s leading listed online gaming company.
The Group is a constituent of the FTSE 250 share index with its shares listed on The London Stock Exchange under the ticker: PRTY. In the year to 31 December 2008, PartyGaming’s Continuing operations generated revenues of $472.9m and Clean EBITDA of $144.2m.
Partygaming has a global reach, and that should place them in a strong position. The Asia Pacific region, and in particular, Australia, is seen to have strong growth potential in the sector.
It's expected that a number of PartyGaming punters will take to the financial spread betting offering, just as some bingo players take to casino, poker and table games. Exactly how much cross over audience for spread betting remains to be see.
*The writer is the founder of the Media Man group of companies including Global Gaming Directory and Casino News Media and has b2b dealings with a number of PartyGaming brands, as they do with dozens of brands in the igaming, gaming and financial sector.

Some of the key strengths of PartyGaming and its brands include:

New technologies have enabled PartyCasino.com to offer "Live Dealer", in collaboration with EvolutionGaming and "Single Wallet" sees players only having to have one account with PartyGaming even if they choose to play a number of games in the portfolio, from slots, to poker, backgammon, sports betting, bingo et al.
The company has ramped up activities and campaigns across the global from Channel Five in Europe, to business deals with Dutch lottery operators, all the way down to Australia where world class poker player, Stewart Scott is the regions brand ambassador for PartyPoker.com
Government b2b dealings - earlier this week PartyGaming announced an exclusive, five-year agreement to provide an online gaming platform for poker and casino games in Denmark for Danske Spil A/S (‘Danske Spil’). Danske Spil is controlled by the Danish Government.
Industry Awards and Commendations: PartyGaming's PartyCasino.com and PartyPoker.com are multi-time award winners of the Media Man - Casino News Media - Global Gaming Directory "Online Casino of the Month" and all entities have also won a range of annual awards handed out by the well respected eGaming Review.

PartyGaming News: Danske Spil chooses PartyGaming to launch online games in Denmark
11th January 2010
PartyGaming, the world’s leading listed online gaming company, today announces an exclusive, five-year agreement to provide an online gaming platform for poker and casino games in Denmark for Danske Spil A/S (‘Danske Spil’).
Controlled by the Danish Government, The Danske Spil Group is one of the largest betting and gaming organisations in Europe with DKK 10,955 million of turnover in 2008. Offering a variety of gaming products in Denmark including the national lottery, numbers games, instant games as well as gambling on machines, Danske Spil has also established a large online gaming business and already has over 500,000 registered online customers.
In 2009 the Danish Government published draft legislation for a partially liberalised gaming market in Denmark that is expected to become law in 2011. If adopted, poker and casino will be among the games subjected to open competition in the Danish market. Whilst Danske Spil has strengthened its position in a number of online gaming categories such as bingo, sports betting and casual games with strong growth in the number of players and revenues, it recognised the need to join forces with a leading online gaming company in order to achieve its potential.
Over the past seven months, Danske Spil has screened the market for providers of services and potential online partners that specialise in poker and casino games. As part of its selection criteria, Danske Spil was determined to find a supplier that matched its own high standards for product quality, security and ethical requirements. PartyGaming passed all of these pre-requisites and is set to create a new strategic alliance with Danske Spil in Denmark. It is expected that the commercial terms between both companies will be finalised within the next few weeks.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Jim Ryan, Chief Executive Officer of PartyGaming said:
“This is a landmark B2B deal for PartyGaming and validates our strategy to become a leading provider of B2B services to both corporates and governments around the world. Danske Spil is widely recognised as one of Europe’s leading gambling businesses, one that is pre-eminent in the Danish market. We are delighted that Danske Spil has recognised our expertise and high standards of business practice and we look forward to building a significant and profitable enterprise as soon as the newly regulated Danish online gaming market opens.”
H.C. Madsen, CEO at Danske Spil, said:
"With some of the world’s leading products in online poker and casino as well as a large international customer base, PartyGaming is definitely a strong business partner for Danske Spil. Combining this with Danske Spil’s unique and strong position in the Danish market with more than 500,000 Danish online customers will guarantee that together we will deliver a highly attractive customer experience to players in Denmark."

Lasseters casino refutes "racist" ban of Bess Price, by Greg Tingle - 8th January 2010
Australia's multi cultural values and sensitivities have once again come under the spotlight following an incident at Lasseters Casino in the Northern Territory on New Years Day.
Patron Bess Price was refused entry to the premise and claims racism and mistreatment.
The incident comes off the back of yet another week of what is being reported as racist related killing of an Indian student in Melbourne, Victoria.
For the uninitiated, unfortunately Australia has a terrible history of what is known as "black deaths in custody" (Indigenous Australian dying, sometimes bashed to death, while in Australian police custody).
Rupert Murdoch's media company, News Limited, including his Darwin based Northern Territory News in Australia's "top end", has been doing an excellent job of providing fair and balanced coverage of Indigenous Australia. What some readers may not know is that it was a young Murdoch who helped cement his media business reputation in 1959 as editor of The News by covering the trial of Max Stuart (Ngoombujarra), a young aboriginal man who was sentenced to death after being found guilty of the murder of a nice year old girl on what was considered extremely questionable evidence. An Australian film entitled Black and White covers that story.
It seems that every time there is a serious incident on Australian soil everyone (press included so I'm "guilty" too) is looking to see if there are "racist" elements to it. Mind you, when a new story breaks a good journalist will always look deeper in order to help find the real story and to add meat and substance. It is not unusual for there often to be more to a story that what is first though and reported, so I think it is the duty of the press to see if there are potential racist elements to breaking news.
On a side note, Lasseters closed down their online casino operation via Income Access circa 2008, however the incident may potentially see more punters having a hit at various other online casinos rather that risk altercations at bricks and mortar establishments.
Australia's most recent race related incidents are going to keep the Australian government busy, and the rumor mill says that at least one film producer is looking to do a 'Casino Jack' style production and between the Labor Party, Crown Casino, Star City Casino and Lasseters they have some bloody good fodder to work with.
This morning I personally called The Northern Territory Times and spoke to journalist "Matt" and he basically said that patron Bess Price is naming the casino as racist and that the casino is calling her drunk. We have also called Lasseters Casino and spoke with Lasseters Group Chief Operating Officer, Brad Morgan. Mr Morgan advised us of no further comment at this time. Should further details emerge Media Man will pass them on to the readership.
In the meantime Australia's undisputed casino king, James Packer, continues to do his modest bit to assist in positive Australian community and multi cultural relations. James and Erica Packer are supporters of UNICEF. Mrs Packer recently bought James a water pump at Christmas for an impoverished community, reports Fairfax Media. The gift is being referred to as the "gift that gives". Mr Packer has also collaborated with Australian mining Magnate, Andrew Forrest in recent years by a special project helping find sustainable employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians. In other Australian multi cultural related matters allegations continue to fly back and forward between Sea Shepherd and Japanese whalers. Australian racing, gaming and advertising gurus, John Singleton and son, Jack Singleton, are long time supporters of Sea Shepherd and just one of their well known brands and stunts is known as "Whale Safe Beer". The Singleton's, Alan Jones and other notable Australian racing identities are currently looking at ways to bring Australian racing and gaming to the internet in an improved fashion. The news comes as the industry awaits updates on the Australian Productivity Report into the gaming industry. Unlike Vegas' "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas", what happened down under in Australia, doesn't stay "down under". Cheers me maties from a multi cultural Bondi Beach.
